Twice as large as all the other Islands combined, the Big Island
contains
one of the world's most active volcanoes which continues to pour molten
lava into
the sea adding to the shoreline.
The black lava rock and the emerald green of the golf courses make
for spectacular golf. On many of the courses the lava is the rough
which you play as a lateral hazard. It's too dangerous to try to retrieve
your ball because the lava is so sharp.
On the Kohala Coast there are a number of excellent golf resorts.
We recommend the Hilton Waikoloa Village which has two first class
18 hole championship golf courses.
